“Visiting Artists” Program

MHS Photography instructor Karen Gourley Lehman received a Friends Grant to fund a “Visiting Artists” Program for Winter / Spring 2014. In collaboration with Marblehead Photographer Rick Ashley, we will bring four different real-world artists to visit the High School for a half-day each. They will share their work and tell their stories: how they started, what their paths have been, and how they’ve been able to stay functioning artists in contemporary times. All Visiting Artists will also look at and respond to student work, providing a fresh perspective so students can begin to push themselves in different directions and think about their own image-making in new ways.
